FOREWORD
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence is an old statement. Single people long for marriage and the married people yearn for the freedom of the single. People have to work out their own solutions to this problem.
In this book, the married people work to solve the problem of boring sexual relations with the same partner. Perhaps their solution is good, perhaps bad. In any event, three couples, who are completely bored with one another, decide the solution to their problem is to swap partners, at least for one night. The six of them decide that Saturday nights they will swap partners with some one else. This does seem to be a solution for the time being, but other problems arise out of their solution. But what started out to be a happy way of solving a sexual problem suffered by the six people becomes a complicated and complex situation.
Since the age groups are from the twenties to the forties, the interests vary in the little group, although they all have several things in common. All of the men work on the same construction job and all the wives are bored with the dull routine of their lives and their husbands. The men are discontent with the boring routine of work and coming home to the same women every night.
Because of their boredom, the small group becomes emotionally involved with each other to a great degree. Their problems are common to most married, stagnant people. Their solutions are different. In the end, each one of the six must make his or her own problems disappear. Each of the six takes a different solution to the problem.
It might interest married people with this same problem, that of boredom to the extremes, to see how other people might possibly solve such a problem.
Everyone winds up with the original problem of boredom solved, however, some of the people have created new problems for themselves. Separations occur, new interests evolve, varied solutions to the age-old problem… BOREDOM!
